The Art of Miso with Fumika Tanaka and Colombe Jacobsen

Saturday February 1st from 3pm-6pm

Location: The Castle in Rockaway Beach (2 blocks from the MTA stop at Beach 116th and a 10 minute walk from the Ferry Landing at Beach 108)

Join us for an afternoon of Miso Making, followed by light refreshments with a Miso and Koji Tasting. Participants will leave with their very own jar of miso, as well as a deeper understanding of how to make miso and use it in their everyday meals. We will also introduce how to use Koji in cooking.

Introduction to Sourdough

Date: Sunday March 8th, 2020 10am-1:00pm

Location: The Castle, Rockaway NY.

Learn to work with natural leavening and experience the health benefits of whole grain, regional flour. You will make your very own sourdough starter, and we will explore the process of mixing, shaping, scoring and baking your very own loaf so that you have all the tools you need to bake sourdough bread at home. You will leave with your very own sourdough starter as well as a fresh baked loaf of bread and a proofing basket.

$100.00 (includes 2 loaves of bread and shaping basket)
